World War One Historical Association
Who We Are
World War One was the crucible of the modern world, and it altered the political, economic, military, intellectual, social, and cultural realities of several continents, culminating in a globally redrawn map which marked the end of empires and the beginning of new nation-states.
WW1HA fosters an awareness of the First World War (1914-18) and its profound and lasting effects through our print and digital publications, regional chapters’ programs, the annual Tomlinson Prize for the best new book on the period, the Colonel Paul F. Braim Student Paper Prize, the 14-18 Book Club, and other events (members only and public) that feature themes from the conflict.
WW1HA was created in 2011 by the merger of the Western Front Association – US Branch and The Great War Society. The WW1HA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to promoting and perpetuating the memory of all those who served their nations.
